The 7th Central District workshop was successful in all of its goals: avoidance of rain, avoidance of gnats, avoidance of unbearable heat, construction of a first-class timber turnpike on the AT near Thornton Gap, construction of new tread and erosion control on 'the Ridges" (Leading and Crusher), and installation of numerous steps on Cedar Run. The workshop was attended by 32 volunteers and 3 trail professionals from SHEN staff. The crews were led by Patrick Wilson, Dan Dueweke, and Steve Paull from the PATC, and C.T. Campbell, Don Harvey, and Shawn Green from SNP. Esther Snow and Sam Hillon managed the chuckwagon.
