| In early October the Blue and White Crew returned to the Mather Side Trail, in Harpers Ferry. Started in October of 2006, the project involves the creation of a stone staircase from the AT to the Stephen Mather Training Center, a training center for Park Service employees. The trail is used as the principle route from the AT to ATC headquarters. The staircase (comprised of over 100 large, stone steps) replaces a steep muddy path that had eroded badly over the years. The crew hopes to complete the project in the Winter of '07 or Spring of '08. The crew bivouaced at the PATC Highacre house. |
